Well I did ok today I guess. It was a nice sunny day. ISO was on auto and was between 70-200 at 300-400mm. I had my shutter at 500 and was using BBAF with dynamic area mode. I had a few keepers but not nearly as many as I was hoping for. I may just need more practice tracking my subject. Or...

Distance might be 10-40 yards but I can zoom up to 400mm

Thank you. I did practice yesterday on the driveway! 500 speed seemed to do the trick nicely, and I was using continuous H release. My biggest question was the preferred focus area method. I played with a few, but I could not make a good decision. I think Dynamic or AF-Area focus mode was best...

Thank you. I'll try that. I guess I will try my best to get the lock on her eyes with her head somewhere within the helper points? I was thinking shutter speed of 500.

Hello, I'm looking for some tips and advice on focus modes, metering, and shutter speeds for hummingbirds? Also release modes? Is it best to capture a single photo or use the continuous modes? I am new to all this. I have seen some videos and ordered a book. Just looking for tips from folks...

    Nikon Z7ii - Advice

Thanks. that is excellent advice. My first priority is photos of runners in outdoor light, portraits, birds, and wildlife, not in flight. It sounds like the Z7ii is the way to go.

    Nikon Z7ii - Advice

Hello, and thanks for reading this. I'm looking for some advice before I purchase a Nikon Z7ii. Most of my photos are of outdoor track and field and cross country events. So mostly predictable runners but not extremely fast. I also do some bird photos but mostly stationary on feeders. I am not...
