Went to the capital today and took some photos for a friend. She is going to run for State Senate. Took a few photos of the Dome and statues.

A lot of my photos are at Church lately usually baptisms and such. But today I took some of the praise band during the opening of the service. I used my newest lens. Z 85 1.8 S

Ya know, I really shouldn't be surprised because I've seen so many examples, but the 24-70 F4 Kit Lens is pretty darn sharp. Because most of my time is spent birding, with longer lenses, I don't have a lot of time with the 24-70. However, we recently visited Butterfly World in the Miami area which gave me a great change to take it for a spin.

I really like it.

Santa brought a new 50mm 1.8 S lens.

Now I understand the excitement folks experience when first trying one of these. It's a wonderful lens! :)

I set out today to see if I could get any tracking testing done (during lunch), and I spotted the same American Kestrel, on the same tree as I saw the other day. Today, I had decent light.

I no more than rolled up, rolled the window down & pointed the camera up at him & off he went.

I was able to lock on and fire just a few shots, but based on the ridiculously small sample the tracking seems to work better on the Z6 with V3.0 firmware.

Z6, 500PF, 500mm, 1/1600, F5.6, ISO 125, Auto Area AF, with tracking on.

I'd say the Z6 tracking performed better than the operator in this instance. The sequence stopped because I turned into the door jam. Lol!

I’d say so! Very nice

Disclaimer: Repost from wildlife thread

This was in my front yard last night, just as the sun was setting.

Sorry, kinda graphic. :-/

Z6 + 500PF (Still trying to figure out what happened to my EXIF data, it shows on Flickr - where these are linked from)
